10 And 10 VA Rating Combined
Combine 10% and 10% under VA's table: 19% becomes 20%. See each step, a bilateral example, and additional-rating comparisons.
10% + 10% = 20% Combined
The whole combined value is 19%. VA combines the larger percentage with the remaining efficiency, then rounds the final table value to the nearest 10%. These are two separate assigned ratings, not an already-rounded overall rating plus a new condition.
| Step | Rating Applied | Before | Exact Arithmetic | Whole Table Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10% | 0% | 10% | 10% |
| 2 | 10% | 10% | 19% | 19% |
If These Are Paired Extremity Ratings
For an illustration in which these assigned percentages affect both legs and meet the bilateral rule, the factor produces 21% and a rounded 20%. Extremity eligibility must already be established; two diagnoses alone do not establish a bilateral factor.
Group 19% + factor 1.9 = 20.9%; whole group 21%.
Open This Bilateral ExampleWhat A Third Assigned Rating Changes
Each row adds one independent assigned percentage to the original 10% and 10%. It starts again with the underlying ratings, so intermediate rounding is not lost. This table describes arithmetic only.

Check The Inputs Before Comparing
The result assumes all listed evaluations can be combined independently under the schedule. It does not decide pyramiding, diagnostic-code selection, amputation limits, staged evaluations, or whether any condition is service connected. Compare the individual evaluations in the codesheet with the assigned overall rating rather than treating this example as a proposed award.
