Board Decision: VA Review Dates
Understand the ordinary windows after a board decision, with a worked January 15, 2026 example, sources and a preselected deadline calculator.
A board decision has these ordinary calendar checkpoints. They are not interchangeable with deadlines for other notices. Use the actual dated notice and the filing instructions for the issue.
| Route | Base Date | Calendar Date | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supplemental Claim: Continuous Pursuit | 2027-01-15 | 2027-01-15 | A Supplemental Claim can generally be filed later. The one-year window matters for continuous pursuit and the potential effective date. A timely, applicable intent to file followed by a qualifying completed Supplemental Claim can preserve continuous pursuit; this calculator does not evaluate that history. |
| Court Notice Of Appeal | 2026-05-15 | 2026-05-15 | 120 calendar days from the Board notice. Court filing is separate from a VA review. Reconsideration, closure orders and tolling require individual review. |
Confirm the deadline printed in your notice. If they differ, your notice controls.
This calendar covers ordinary modernized compensation notices. It does not resolve contested claims, legacy appeals, extensions, reconsideration, tolling or exceptional office and Court closures. Ask an accredited representative promptly about any discrepancy.

What This Notice Does Not Do
A Court appeal goes to the Court, not to VA. A Supplemental Claim and a Court appeal have different filing windows and effects. Reconsideration motions, remands and tolling can affect the analysis; this worked example assumes a final Board decision and no special procedural event.
