Supplemental Claim Decision: VA Review Dates
Understand the ordinary windows after a supplemental claim decision, with a worked January 15, 2026 example, sources and a preselected deadline calculator.
A supplemental claim decision has these ordinary calendar checkpoints. They are not interchangeable with deadlines for other notices. Use the actual dated notice and the filing instructions for the issue.
| Route | Base Date | Calendar Date | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supplemental Claim: Continuous Pursuit | 2027-01-15 | 2027-01-15 | A Supplemental Claim can generally be filed later. The one-year window matters for continuous pursuit and the potential effective date. A timely, applicable intent to file followed by a qualifying completed Supplemental Claim can preserve continuous pursuit; this calculator does not evaluate that history. |
| Higher-Level Review | 2027-01-15 | 2027-01-15 | Review of the existing record. Another Higher-Level Review of the same Higher-Level Review decision is not available. |
| Board Appeal | 2027-01-15 | 2027-01-15 | Ordinary modernized review window. Simultaneously contested claims have a different, usually 60-day, Board deadline. |
Confirm the deadline printed in your notice. If they differ, your notice controls.
This calendar covers ordinary modernized compensation notices. It does not resolve contested claims, legacy appeals, extensions, reconsideration, tolling or exceptional office and Court closures. Ask an accredited representative promptly about any discrepancy.

What This Notice Does Not Do
A decision on a Supplemental Claim starts its own ordinary review period. Another Supplemental Claim needs the appropriate basis, generally new and relevant evidence or a qualifying change in law. Higher-Level Review uses the closed record of that decision; a Board Appeal follows its selected docket rules.
